Why Better Sects?

First off, because we need to do better, no matter what sect we do or don’t ascribe to.

Second, I just really enjoy a fun title, and growing up in a belief system where sexuality was such a lightening rod, measuring stick, and litmus test for faithfulness, a little word play seemed apropos.

Third, when it comes to faith, there’s so much noise, extremism, and hyper-partisan fodder clogging the air. My hope is to provide a focused, engaging, welcoming platform away from the noise.

Finally, I believe it’s important to hear different sides to the story (specifically of faith) and really see the humanity in those who find (or don’t find) the divine in the same way that I do.

Some of my guests will be people who know, some won’t. Some are well-known, some aren’t.

They all have something to teach us about having better sects.
