From an often difficult childhood, to finding her calling after a move to Northern, VA, to following in Hillary Clinton’s footsteps to the prestigious halls of Wellesley College and now investing her passion and care for humanity in the heart of New York City, Lindsey is very much on an audacious journey.
She made waves primarying long time Congressman Jerry Nadler, made even bigger waves late last year revealing how she suffered significant sexual harassment while working in the office of New York’s governor Cuomo, and today she shares why she’s doing what she’s doing, and how her life’s journey is shaping who she is and who she’s becoming.
Episode 011: Same God
Today, I have the privilege of chatting with Dr. Larycia Hawkins and Filmmaker Linda Midgett.
Dr. Hawkins found herself face to face with that reality when she made international news and was ultimately fired as a tenured professor from Wheaton College for wearing a hijab and standing in solidarity with muslims. As a Christian woman of color, she had been incensed and heartbroken by comments made toward muslims by prominent evangelicals such as Jerry Falwell Jr, and decided to act, along with several students from one of her classes.
This story ended up as a documentary by Linda Midgett called Same God, and they join me to share their incredible journey today.
